Wonder Woman fans, rejoice! Director Patty Jenkins has given us yet another glimpse at the upcoming sequel. This time? A first look at Kristen Wiig as her character in Wonder Woman 1984 via social media.
Check it out:
"Enter Barbara Minerva... ##WW84," writes Jenkins on Twitter, along with a photo of Wiig in the role. Wiig plays Barbara Minerva, aka The Cheetah, aka Wonder Woman's archenemy, for the upcoming sequel to Wonder Woman.
So, clearly this is Barbara in her secret/civilian identity, not in her full-on feline form. For that, we're apparently going to have to wait a little longer.
Jenkins confirmed at CinemaCon that the sequel would be set in the 1980s, hence the title. In addition to Wiig and Gal Gadot reprising her role as the eponymous Wonder Woman (obviously), Pedro Pascal has also joined the cast, along with Chris Pine, apparently and possibly even original Wonder Woman Lynda Carter in a cameo.
Wonder Woman 1984 is set to hit theaters on Nov. 1, 2019.
