We often take for granted that people have seen our favorite shows or movies. Battlestar Galactica, when it was rebooted with a mini-series in 2003 on SYFY, was a massive success. In the years since it ended, it's popularity has largely sustained. But despite appearances, not everyone in the world has seen the show. Here at Fangrrls, we discovered that one of our own was among the hordes of BSG virgins. For this reason, when we embarked upon planning out massive #BSGRelayTweetathon (TM) during SYFY's marathon of the show's first season this weekend, we knew one thing for certain: Courtney Enlow was going to be involved.
On Friday night, as the world settled in to watch the mini-series that started it all, we all glued ourselves to both our tv screens and to the Fangrrls twitter account to watch one of our friends meet one of our favorite shows for the first time.
I don't know if you've ever had the experience of introducing someone to something you love for the first time, but it can be delightful, and Friday night's live tweet certainly ranks among the best. If you somehow missed out on the live experience, don't worry, we've collected some of the highlights.
Like, for example, Courtney's utter fascination with everyone's hair.
Or, perhaps, her concerns for both Number Six's wardrobe choices and potentially, her diet while on Earth.
But nothing quite tops the true highlight of the evening: the endless comparisons between the bold and beautiful Kara "Starbuck" Thrace, and an equally bold and beautiful heroine of a completely different variety.
If you've never had the pleasure of watching someone enjoy your favorite show for the first time, I strongly recommend it. Here at Fangrrls, we certainly enjoyed the experience.
