The Avengers: Age of Ultron just began filming a couple of weeks ago and already the buzz for the movie is building -- courtesy of Thor himself.
Of course, The Avengers: Age of Ultron is not going to need any help selling tickets when it comes out next year, but fans (like us) are already anxious for every scrap of non-spoiler information we can grab about the movie. Enter Chris Hemsworth, who had this to say at Wizard World Comic-Con in Sacramento over the weekend (via Collider):
“Everything in (Age of Ultron) is ramped up, though. It kind of blew me away reading (the script). I don’t know how Joss (Whedon, writer-director) does it, but everyone has gone up another notch and the whole thing is bigger and more exciting and crazier. Yeah, he’s a genius.”
Hemsworth himself has not started work on the production yet, with some initial scenes being shot in South Africa and the movie also utilizing locations in Italy, South Korea, the U.S. and possibly some other countries. But he says he'll pick up his hammer when the show rolls into the U.K. for the majority of shooting:
“I’m really excited to start Avengers 2 in 2 months and get back on set. We’re going to meet in London and shoot there for 4 months, so I’m excited to get back together with everyone and catch up.”
With at least six months of shooting happening and one of the main Avengers not needed on set until two months in, something tells me that this is indeed going to be a mammoth movie. And how could it not be? When your first one earns $1.5 billion at the box office and is acclaimed as one of the greatest superhero films ever, you'd best bring your "A" game (pun intended) for the next round.
The Avengers: Age of Ultron opens on May 1, 2015.
