Tonight during NBC's Football Night In America pre-game show for the NFL contest between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Seattle Seahawks, intergalactic spaceman Chris Pratt joined the broadcast party dressed in a Seahawks jersey and introduced a new teaser trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
A diehard football fan who grew up in the Seattle area, Pratt presented an extended glimpse of the highly anticipated sequel to Colin Trevorrow's Jurassic World from 2015. In it, several shots of dying dinosaurs, the island sanctuary, and a tranquilized T-rex in a truck were presented.
A second, more explosive clip simultaneouly appeared on the film's official Twitter page:
Though just a tantalizing offering, this short peek of the latest entry in the dinosaur saga that began back in 1993 with Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park is packed with a few primeval surprises and a volcanic eruption on Isla Nublar that will hold you over until the full first trailer rolls out during NBC's Thursday Night Football game, which pairs the Atlanta Falcons against the New Orleans Saints on December 7 at 8:25 EST.
Directed by A Monster Calls' J.A. Bayona, and staring Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Ted Levine, B.D. Wong, Toby Jones, James Cromwell, and Jeff Goldblum, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom thunders into theaters on June 22, 2018.
