Titan Comics officially enters the Animus and will forge a path into the formation of the Brotherhood with its direct tie-in comic book series for Ubisoft's sword-slashing Assassin's Creed Origins video game, which was released on October 27.
This is the fourth flagship video game adaptation for the London-based publisher to tackle, following its inspired comic book treatments of Wolfenstein II, Tekken and the upcoming Bloodborne adaptation.
Capitalizing on the global appeal of the Assassin's Creed franchise, Titan's new mini-series is set in Ancient Egypt during the reign of Ptolemy XIII at the close of the Ptolemaic Period (49-47 BC) and Rome circa 30 BC and explores the long-lasting blood feud between the Brotherhood of Assassins and the Order of the Ancients.

Assassin’s Creed fans, rejoice! Titan Comics is thrilled to share with you first look at interior art from the upcoming Assassin’s Creed: Origins comic mini-series, which is set after the latest best-selling Assassin’s Creed: Origins video game from Ubisoft.
Hitting comic shops on February 28, Titan’s new comic series will explore the beginnings of the Assassin’s Creed, introducing new characters alongside the main character from the video game Aya, and notable historical figures, including Cleopatra!
The debut issue, written by Assassin’s Creed comic book writer Anthony Del Col (Kill Shakespeare, Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys), and illustrated by rising star PJ Kaiowa (Pacific Rim: Tales from Year Zero), comes with a free redeemable game code for Assassin’s Creed Origins video game content - an unlockable Shamshir blade for your character!
Issue #1 comes with three stunning art covers to collect by artists Stephanie Hans (The Wicked + The Divine, Generations Phoenix and Jean Grey), Sanya Anwar (Assassin’s Creed, Archie) and Sunsetagain (Assassin’s Creed Uprising). Plus, a cool game art cover!
Series writer Del Col was lured to the comic project through a wicked combination of good fortune and perfect timing:
"My favorite character in the Assassin's Creed: Origins game was Aya," Del Col told SYFY WIRE. "She had an intriguing combination of deadliness and sensitivity that made for a compelling character. As the game ended I wanted to experience more of her journey! And then … Titan and Ubisoft called me, asking if I’d like to tell more of her story in comics! It was a story -- designed by Ann Toole -- that not only included Aya but also two of the most fascinating figures of history -- Julius Caesar and Cleopatra. How could I say no?”
For gamers, Assassin's Creed Origins is available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Its new expansion pack, The Hidden Ones, was released on January 23 and added the Sinai and the Red Sea regions, legendary new weapons, mounts, and outfits.
