In the midst of a wildly successful box-office performance, Pixar's Coco is now looking toward a big awards season as well. The film leads today's list of nominees for the 2018 Annie Awards, which have been given to winners for various accomplishments in animation every year since 1972.

This time around, Pixar's latest secured the highest number of nominations with a total of 13 (including Best Animated Feature, Best Direction, and Best Production Design). After that, Cartoon Saloon's secured 10 noms for The Breadwinner, an Anjelina Jolie-produced film about a girl in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan who dresses as a boy in order to work and support her family.

There are also several genre projects being spotlighted for the awards. On the TV front, Guillermo del Toro's Trollhunters, which was produced by DreamWorks Animation for Netflix, has been nominated for six awards (two more than last year's Annies, which saw the fantasy series winning three of the four categories for which it was nominated). And Cartoon Network's Samurai Jack, which released its final season this year to critical acclaim, received four nominations.

Other nominees of note include Netflix's BoJack Horseman and Big Mouth, Disney's Tangled: The Series, and Cartoon Network's Rick and Morty.

The 2018 Annie Awards will be held on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018. What was your favorite animated moment last year?
