Coco sweeps 45th Annie Awards with 10 major wins for Disney's Pixar

Disney and Cartoon Network cleaned up at this year's Annie Awards, the annual ceremony that honors accomplishments in animation. Pixar's Coco was the biggest victor of them all with a staggering 10 wins, including Best Animated Feature. For the movie's full list of wins, see below.  

Adult Swim's Rick and Morty--a co-venture between Community creator Dan Harmon and voice actor Justin Roiland--picked up the award for Best General Audience Animated Television/Broadcast Production thanks to the "Pickle Rick" episode in Season 3. It also nabbed Outstanding Achievement, Writing – TV/Broadcast Production for “The Ricklantis Mixup” in the same season, which was written by Ryan Ridley and Dan Guterman.

Other genre winners included Cartoon Network's Samurai Jack revival, winning Outstanding Achievement, Production Design – TV/Broadcast Production (Episode: XCIII), Outstanding Achievement, Character Design – TV/Broadcast Production (Episode: XCVI), Outstanding Achievement, Editing – TV/Broadcast Production (Episodes: XCIII, XCIV, XCIX). 

Netflix and Guillermo del Toro's Trollhunters won in Outstanding Achievement, Character Animation – TV/Broadcast Production for the episode "Homecoming" in Season 2. 

Matt Reeve's War for the Planet of the Apes scooped up the award for Outstanding Achievement, Character Animation – Live Action Production while Cuphead took home the award for Outstanding Achievement, Character Animation – Video Game. In voice acting, Tom Kenny won his third Annie for his work on Nickelodeon's Spongebob Squarepants. This is the second time he's won the award for this role.
