ComiXology is ready to unleash a new batch of original titles, and Superfreaks are leading the way. The new superhero series by writers Elsa Charretier and Pierrick Colinet is launching today, and fully embracing the binge model that was perfected by Netflix. That means all five issues of Superfreaks are available to read, right now, and SYFY WIRE has an exclusive peek at what's in store.

Charretier and Colinet are joined on Superfreaks by artist Margaux Saltel. Their story follows a diverse group of teenage sidekicks who are forced to step up in a big way. Every superhero in the world has seemingly disappeared, and it’s up to these second stringers to save the day.

Saltel recently posted a YouTube video in which she drew Blue Aura, one of the main characters from Superfreaks.

In a statement, Superfreaks co-writer Elsa Charretier expressed her enthusiasm for letting fans get through the entire miniseries at their own pace. “Readers will experience all the cliffhangers we intended as storytellers, while binge-reading the entire series the same day it's released," she said. "And when the world’s superheroes have disappeared overnight, you don't want to wait to see what's happened."

Amazon Prime, Kindle Unlimited, and comiXology Unlimited members can read Superfreaks for free, but the individual issues are also available on Kindle and comiXology for everyone else.

ComiXology also unveiled the rest of the new creator-owned comics that will be released under its comiXology Originals program. In addition to Superfreaks, the new titles include Savage Game by NFL player Ryan Kalil, writer Shawn Kittelsen, and artist Chris B. Starkings is also bringing his Elephantman comic to comiXology with a new story called Elephantmen 2261: The Death of Shorty, with art by Axel Medellin and Boo Cook.
