After being told that Anna Paquin’s Rogue had been cut from X-Men: Days of Future Past a few months back, now comes word that she’ll be in the film after all!
Back in December, director Bryan Singer told Entertainment Weekly that the True Blood actress wouldn’t appear in the upcoming X-Men flick, saying:
Through the editing process, the sequence became extraneous. It’s a really good sequence and it will probably end up on the DVD so people can see it. But like many things in the editing process, it was an embarrassment of riches and it was just one of the things that had to go. Unfortunately, it was the one and only sequence Anna Paquin was in, the Rogue character was in. Even though she’s in the materials and part of the process of making the film, she won’t appear in it.
After noticing that Paquin’s name appeared in the credits at the end of the final and exciting trailer for Days of Future Past, a 20th Century Fox representative told BuzzFeed that she was back in the movie, saying “Essentially, [it’s] a cameo."
Which is better than nothing, right?
Are you guys happy to see that Anna Paquin will finally appear in Days of Future Past after all, even if it’s only for a cameo?
X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theaters on May 23.
