The Wachowskis' upcoming film Cloud Atlas looks to be big and potentially awesome. Also, a little confusing. But don't worry—they're here to explain how it works, and they've brought star Tom Hanks along to help.
The first trailer looked really cool, but it was also pretty dense, trying to tease the massive generation-spanning storyline that focuses on dozens of characters across millennia.
The film stars Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Hugo Weaving, Hugh Grant, Jim Broadbent, Ben Whishaw, Susan Sarandon, Jim Sturgess and several others, all playing nearly half a dozen different characters each.
For a quick refresher, here's the brief yet tantalizing synopsis:
"An epic story of humankind in which the actions and consequences of our lives impact one another throughout the past, present and future as one soul is shaped from a murderer into a savior and a single act of kindness ripples out for centuries to inspire a revolution."With the film set to open Oct. 26, the cast and crew have recorded a behind-the-scenes featurette breaking down the epic premise.
What do you think? Does that make more sense?
