Could Kid Flash fill the spot left by Firestorm on Legends of Tomorrow?

With the recent departure of Firestorm from The CW’s Legends of Tomorrow, there’s now an empty seat (well, technically two) waiting to be filled on the Waverider. Could the spots left vacant by the death of Martin Stein (Victor Garber) during the “Crisis on Earth-X” crossover event and the subsequent departure of his other Firestorm half Jefferson Jackson (Franz Drameh) at the end of the midseason finale be filled by a certain speedster?

In a recent interview with Black Girl Nerds during the network’s 2018 winter TCA presentation, CW president Mark Pedowitz revealed that an established Flash character may be crossing over to that other Arrowverse TV series, Legends of Tomorrow.

Talking about Drameh’s departure from the DC TV show, Pedowitz said “He’s an incredible actor, but you might see Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale) show up on Legends.” However when asked if Wally will actually be sticking around on the comic book series, Pedowitz refused to confirm if that was indeed the plan, saying: “I can’t answer that, you’ll have to watch (laughs)!”

So far, Kid Flash has pretty much been a non-factor on the fourth season of the speedy superhero series, having only appeared in a handful of episodes since Season 4 kicked off. Then there’s also the fact that the “sidekick” spot has been successfully taken by Ralph Dibny (Hartley Sawyer), aka Elongated Man, who has quickly become a fan favorite.

The possibility of Kid Flash crossing over from The Flash to Legends of Tomorrow jives with what former executive producer Marc Guggenheim said about filling that now-empty seat with a “previously established character from the Arrowverse.” Speaking to ComicBook.com, he said “We do have a plan for how to replace Firestorm on the bridge, and it's a really cool one. It's one we're really excited about. There's really like two empty chairs on the Waverider. So we do have a game plan. We've always had a game plan.”

What do you think of Kid Flash possibly (remember, nothing has been confirmed) joining Legends of Tomorrow for the rest of the third season?
