With Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy officially over, we've all been wondering how Warner Bros. would go about rebooting Batman for another run of films. Well folks, we may have just gotten the answer.
The fan site Batman-On-Film is reporting that the touted new Justice League film could serve as a launch pad for a new solo Batman franchise.
With Superman: Man of Steel coming in 2013 (and rumored to loosely tie in with the upcoming Justice League film), it makes sense that they would want to connect the new Batman into a grand scheme of films.
Plus, the few years it will take to get Justice League on the big screen (2014-2015) would provide a nice break from Nolan's acclaimed series—putting a little breathing room between the two interpretations.
Considering Bruce Wayne's cultural status these days, tying the introduction of the new Batman into Justice League could definitely give the project some additional gravitas, drawing in fans from all the various franchises.
To be honest, it's surprising it's taken DC this long to get on the bandwagon. Marvel has done gangbusters with its shared-universe strategy, and with established names like Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman on the roster, DC has the potential to do even better.
What do you think? Do you want a new Batman film sooner rather than later, or should they let the Cowl rest a few years and regroup?
