The first trailer for a Scooby-Doo prequel movie has made its way online via Entertainment Weekly. Titled Daphne & Velma, the movie from Blue Ribbon Content (Warner Bros. Television Group’s digital studio) focuses on the two female members of Mystery Inc. when they were still in high school.
In the film, Daphne (Sarah Jeffrey) transfers to Velma’s (Sarah Gilman) school, Ridge Valley High, an incredible tech-savvy institute with all the latest gadgets provided by the school’s benefactor, tech billionaire Tobias Bloom. However, things aren't all that utopian as they seem when the smartest students begin to disappear, only to re-appear as mindless zombies. It's up to the two "super sleuths" to solve the mystery... if they're not expelled first.

News of the movie broke in November when it was described as Blue Ribbon's focus ”on telling stories for millennial women by millennial women.” “We wanted to give the audience a new take on these two familiar faces, who are fan favorites in the Scooby-Doo universe," said Peter Girardi, EVP of Blue Ribbon Content & EVP of Alternative Programming at Warner Bros. Animation, describing Daphne and Velma as "iconic and strong female characters."
Solve the mystery for yourself (with a big bowl of Scooby Snacks) when Daphne & Velma drops on digital, Blu-ray, and DVD May 22.
The Scooby-Doo-verse is also gearing up for a crossover with Supernatural on March 29.
