Matt Murdock has finally come home.
After years at Twentieth Century Fox, which included one ill-fated feature film a decade ago, the film rights to Marvel Comics' blind superhero Daredevil have finally returned to Marvel Studios. Marvel's president of production, Kevin Feige, confirmed that the rights are indeed back with the company during an Iron Man 3 press junket yesterday, setting the stage for a boatload of fan speculation about when (and how) Daredevil will show up in the ever-growing Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Rumors of a reboot courtesy of Fox had been swirling for quite some time, and last year we heard that studio had until Oct. 10, 2012, to put a film in production or the rights would revert back to Marvel. Obviously that didn't happen, and now Marvel's got another potential blockbuster property back in its care. Feige made no mention of when we might hear some news about what Marvel plans to do with the character, though. In fact, he said nothing other than confirming the news that Marvel owns the Daredevil film rights again, so all we can do right now is sit back and wonder.
So let's start wondering. Where's Daredevil gonna pop up? Does he get his own long-awaited reboot first? Does he cameo in a Spider-Man flick? Does he join the Avengers? Where do you want Matt Murdock to show up next?
