There’s no denying it. Watching Darth Vader swing that lightsaber once more in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was one of the highlights of the film.
Ahead of the movie’s release on home video in less than two weeks, Lucasfilm has debuted a new video featurette about the greatest Star Wars villain of all time (and one of cinema’s greatest baddies, period).
Although not my favorite film set in a galaxy far, far away by a long shot (that would be The Empire Strikes Back), Rogue One brought back the Vader we all came to know and love over the course of six movies (yeah, I’m counting the ones where he was formerly known as Anakin Skywalker) and more. The added bonus in the film was that the powers-that-be also brought back James Earl Jones as the original voice of Vader -- which made his return even more exciting!
The featurette offers a behind-the-scenes look at Vader in action and some of the scenes the iconic character was involved in, as well as video interviews with the film’s director, Gareth Edwards, director of photography Greig Fraser, and Director Krennic actor Ben Mendelsohn.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story arrives on April 4.
