While there’s still no release date for Days Gone, Bend Studio was on hand at E3 2017 to debut a seven-minute gameplay trailer for their post-apocalyptic zombie-filled video game.
Set two years after a worldwide pandemic has killed off most of mankind and transformed millions of folks into zombie-like creatures called Freakers, the stunning open-world action-adventure game (meant to be the first in a franchise) is set in the majestic vistas of the Pacific Northwest.
The game follows Deacon St. John (Star Wars' Sam Witwer), a drifter and bounty hunter who likes to go on motorcycle rides, take long walks on the beach and kill off Marauders (of the human kind) by using a horde of zombies. Also: Zombie Bear!!! Yep, that’s a thing. And it’s glorious.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Days Gone is giving me a strong The Last of Us mixed in with Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, sprinkled with a dash of Rise of the Tomb Raider, vibe. And I totally love it! But don’t take my word for it. Have a look at the gameplay trailer below, and chime in with your thoughts.
