Warner Bros. has officially landed Matt Reeves (War for the Planet of the Apes) to take the reins of The Batman, and now the studio is looking to launch a whole new Batman-adjacent property to go along with it.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. is eyeing a live-action version of Nightwing, which will focus on Dick Grayson's heroic alter ego. The studio is courting Chris McKay (The LEGO Batman Movie) to helm the project, which makes sense, because the guy is already pretty familiar with the franchise ... plus, if there's any Batman-ish character who deserves a lighter touch, it's Grayson. The script is being written by Bill Dubuque (The Accountant).

As for how this might fit in the DCEU? Well, we have some ideas. We already know there have been some Robins in Batfleck's past, largely due to the defaced Robin suit in the Batcave (which likely belonged to a different Robin, Jason Todd, who was killed by the Joker in the comics). So it stands to reason there could be an adult Grayson out there roaming the streets and taking out bad guys. Looking to the comics, Nightwing has become a prominent hero in his own right, leading the Teen Titans and setting up shop in the city of Bludhaven.

If Warner Bros. is looking to expand its team approach beyond the Justice League, introducing Grayson could be an easy doorway to set up a DCEU version of the Teen Titans. If nothing else, it's at least a lighter version of Batman that could provide a fresh tone for the grim-dark of Zack Snyder's world.

The project is one of several potential new DC projects in the works at Warner Bros., along with Gotham City Sirens and a Deadshot spinoff. Not to mention all the movies officially announced, such as The Flash, Green Lantern Corps, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, The Batman, etc.

What do you think? Who would you like to see play live-action Dick Grayson? Also: Does any real human actually have the butt to pull it off?
