DC's Young Monsters in Love brings romance to monsters

If Valentine's Day and Halloween had a baby, it'd be the latest venture from DC Comics. Upcoming prestige book Young Monsters in Love will show the softer side of your favorite DC monsters as they pair up and find love.

Just in time for Valentine's Day 2018, DC Comics is releasing a one-shot anthology full of monster love stories. Even though they're typically scaring the crap out of us, monsters fall in love too! With stories by Paul Dini, Jeff Lemire, James Robinson, Mark Russell, and Alisa Kwitney and art by Kelley Jones, Guillem March, and Frazer Irving, these are sure to be some of the most heart-wrenching monster stories of recent memory.

Check out the cover by Jones to get an idea of the types of romance you can expect:

Judging by that cover, it looks like at least Swamp Thing and the Bride of Frankenstein are getting some love in the book. Oh, and Frankenstein is there to ... watch? There's no word on what other monsters will fall in love in the series, but there are a few that would be pretty fun.

Etrigan the Demon is, well, a demon, but his rhyming abilities would make him uber romantic. Just think of the poetry he could write his loved one. Dr. Myrra Rhodes, aka Dr. Medusa from Creature Commandos, has those snakes on her head, but that doesn't mean the right partner couldn't charm them. Everyone needs a zombie running around. It'd be great to see the undead Solomon Grundy get his shot at love with at least a first date. He's already got a suit to wear and everything. Here's hoping they each get a shot to find that special someone.

What monsters do you want to see fall in love? Young Monsters in Love #1 will be on shelves February 7, 2018.
