Sometimes, even industry veterans can be victims of a slip of the tongue—which seems to be what happened to multiple Oscar winner Rick Baker, who dropped a major spoiler about the future of the Men in Black franchise.
And it didn't take much for him to do it. Empire magazine recently did a big MiB3 piece and spoke to Baker, who dropped this following nugget:
"At least we've got Josh Brolin now to carry on with Tommy's part..."
We know that this is a time-travel movie, with Will Smith's Agent J going into the past for adventures with young Agent K (Josh Brolin). And it's clear to anyone that even though the first Men in Black was basically a buddy-cop film, the franchise has evolved into the Will Smith show. It's also clear that Tommy Lee Jones is getting a bit long in the tooth for the run-and-jump of it all.
So will Men in Black 3 kill off Agent K, only to have him replaced with a younger version of himself?
Wouldn't surprise me in the least.
Here's the trailer of the May 25 release, for good measure:
