It’s all connected, and while the new Guardians of the Galaxy-themed Disneyland ride isn’t technically within the MCU, it does include some nods to some interesting pieces of the Marvel universe.
In the waiting area for the new Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: Breakout attraction at Disneyland’s California Adventure park, the design team has included a boatload of cool stuff to keep fans entertained while they wait to jump in and help rescue Star-Lord and the gang. Some of the most interesting tidbits? IGN’s report notes you’ll find everything from a big-screen Ultron drone to some small-screen Terrigen mists (via Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), but the last two are arguably the most important — and could be laying the groundwork for some future twists within the MCU.
There’s an Asgardian War Hammer that bears a positively striking resemblance to Beta Ray Bill's hammer. With the next Thor film heading into the weirder corners of the MCU, actually introducing Beta Ray Bill down the line doesn’t seem so far-fetched. Along with Bill’s hammer, there’s a display case of “Mysterious Artifacts” described as being “found at the bottom of the Terran ocean. Very little is known of the civilization that created them.” Hmm, with DC doing Aquaman, could Marvel finally be looking to bring Namor: The Sub-Mariner to the big screen?
