Nobody knows how to open a toy chest like the fine folks at Disney, and for their new collection of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story amusements, the Mouse House has chosen to unveil them in a clever series of four fan-made animated shorts.  Lego unleashed images of their new building sets earlier today, and now here's the first video chapter of their next marketing wave showcasing a stop-motion parade of Rogue One figurines, die-cast spaceships, collector figures, playsets and Pop! Vinyl toys from Disney, Hasbro, Funko, Mattel and more.

In addition to this awesome gold mine of Rogue One goodies, Disney and Lucasfilm have announced a creative contest beginning Sept. 30.  The Star Wars YouTube channel and creative network Tongal will host a  "Go Rogue" global competition, encouraging Star Wars fans to design and share their own “Rogue Stories” and hopefully be awarded a trip to tour of Lucasfilm HQ in San Francisco, see a Rogue One sneak peek and perhaps have their micro-movies displayed up on the silver screen.  All contest rules and requirements are available here.

Here's the official contest description:

CREATE YOUR OWN 2-MINUTE ROGUE ONE-INSPIRED VIDEO FOR THE CHANCE TO WIN A TRIP TO LUCASFILM IN SAN FRANCISCO TO ATTEND A SCREENING OF ‘ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY’ AND SEE YOUR VIDEO ON THE BIG SCREEN! LINKS TO FULL RULES, DO'S AND DON'TS, AND THE ASSET PACK ARE AVAILABLE BELOW. SUBMISSIONS FOR ENTRANTS 13-17 AND FOR ENTRANTS 18+ ARE OPEN FROM SEPTEMBER 30 THROUGH OCTOBER 21, 2016.

“These fan-created shorts are a tribute to the incredible content that the Star Wars community posts online every day,” said Jimmy Pitaro, Chairman, Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media. “The Go Rogue campaign was designed with Star Wars fans in mind – we want them to be front and center in the run up to ‘Rogue One’ by imagining and creating their own "Rogue Stories.”

Have a look at the colorful new Rogue One toy rollout in the gallery below (most available starting on Sept. 30), and tell us if you might participate in this mini Star Wars film celebration.
