The animated corner of the Marvel universe is getting ready to tackle its own version of Secret Wars, and now we have the first details on how it’ll play out.

The one-hour event will be the premiere of the new season of The Avengers animated series, and is set to air on Saturday, June 17, on Disney XD. The premiere picks up after the finale of last season, subtitled Ultron Revolution, and finds Tony Stark stuck in another dimension. So the rest of the Avengers band together to rescue him, but find themselves attacked by a new crew of villains and scattered across space and time themselves. Thankfully, Black Panther and his new team (Captain Marvel, Ant-Man, Vision and Wasp) step in to lend a hand.

If you just can’t wait for June 17, Disney XD will also be rolling out six original, animated shorts beginning on June 2 to introduce the new Avengers to fans.

Saturday, June 17:

One-hour premiere of "Marvel's Avengers: Secret Wars" season four featuring back-to-back episodes on Disney XD (11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. EDT). The first two episodes will also be available on the Disney XD App and Disney XD VOD.

"Avengers No More – Part 1" (11:30 a.m. EDT) – While trying to rescue Tony Stark from another dimension, the Avengers battle the Leader and his newly formed Cabal.

"Avengers No More – Part 2" (12:00 p.m. EDT) – Black Panther assembles a new team of Avengers to stop the Leader and free the original Avengers.

The animated Marvel shows have been putting some interesting spins on major comic arcs the past couple years, and Secret Wars is certainly one of the biggest yet. Do you think they can pull it off? What story should they tell next?
