We're a little less than a month out from the theatrical release of Thor: Ragnarok, the latest Marvel Studios film and the third to specifically focus on the titular god of thunder. While reactions to the first two Thor films have been mixed, this installment — directed by What We Do in the Shadows alum Taika Waititi — has looked very promising ever since the initial trailers arrived, embracing both humor and the cosmic weirdness of Marvel Comics.
The big question, though, was how the full film would land. General audiences still have weeks to wait, but a few members of the media were lucky enough to get an early peek. The reaction has been very, very positive, with critics praising the film's sense of humor, co-star Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), and more. Check out some of the early reactions:
Not everyone was blown away by the thunder god's new film, though. Some of the reactions were, while not entirely negative, a bit more measured.
So now we just have to wait and see how general audiences respond. Ragnarok is positioned to be the most successful Thor movie yet, but it's still not clear how far it could go.
Thor: Ragnarok is in theaters November 2.
