It seems the creative team behind Arrow agrees with the fans — Curtis Holt is an awesome addition to Team Arrow. We’re happy to report he’ll be sticking around.
Entertainment Weekly reports that Echo Kellum, who plays Palmer Tech employee Curtis Holt on The CW series, has been upgraded to a series regular for the upcoming fifth season. Holt’s character has been a supporting player for much of the season (sharing most of his scenes with Felicity at Palmer Tech), though he got a crash-course introduction to Team Arrow in the latest episode. His dynamic with the team was a highlight, and considering they’re currently in need of an ace hacker, it seems like the perfect fit.
But it definitely begs the question — with Curtis becoming a series regular, what exactly does that mean for Felicity’s future with the team? Her engagement with Oliver is off, and she seems content and happy as she’s now pouring her energy into working to turn around Palmer Tech and “save the world” via that route. Will we have both Felicity and Curtis on the team next season? Will Felicity’s role be reduced to supporting, and the series just keep up with her work at Palmer Tech?
This casting news is great, no doubt, but it does raise more questions than it answers.
Arrow airs Wednesday nights on The CW.
How do you think this will all play out?
