Jane Levy is one busy gal. Yesterday, we told you the actress had been cast alongside Sissy Spacek in Hulu’s new anthology series Castle Rock, based on the titular fictional town created by Stephen King.
Today comes word that the Evil Dead reboot and Don’t Breathe star had come on board another genre series. This time, Levy has scored a role alongside yet another legendary actress in the form of Glenn Close in Amazon’s half-hour zombie pilot Sea Oak.
Written by fan fave George Saunders (Lincoln in the Bardo) and executive-produced by Jonathan Kraus, Sea Oak will be directed by director-producer Hiro Murai (Atlanta, Legion), with Evan Dunsky (Hemlock Grove) serving as executive producer and showrunner on the pilot, which is described as a “mix of zombie drama and family revenge comedy.” Here’s the official synopsis:
Sea Oak revolves around Aunt Bernie (Close), a meek, unmarried woman with no children in a working-class Rust Belt city who dies tragically in a home invasion. Compelled by sheer force of dissatisfaction, she comes back from the dead full of rage and determined to get the life she never had. She proceeds to inflict a range of demands on what's left of her nuclear family, including a quasi-stripper nephew and two feckless nieces, who live in a low-end subsidized hellhole of a housing complex called Sea Oak.
There’s no word on which role Levy will play, but my money is on her playing one of Aunt Bernie’s “feckless” nieces. She’s joining a growing cast that also includes Rae Gray (Fear the Walking Dead) and Jack Quaid (Vinyl).
