Next year, the world will be getting the latest installment of the legendary Predator franchise with the release of Shane Black's The Predator, but before we get to it, there's another occasion that must be marked. Did you know that it has been 30 years since Predator first arrived in theaters?
I’ve been told by some of my Syfy Wire compatriots that this fact makes them feel old, but being 25, I wouldn't know. But whether you're a decades-long Predator fan or a more recent convert, you'll be happy to know that the occasion is being marked in spectacular fashion. Not on the big screen, but in a big book!
This month, long-time Predator publisher Dark Horse Comics will be publishing an all-new, oversized, 30th-anniversary hardcover of the original comic book sequels to the first movie in a collection entitled Predator: The Original Comics Series — Concrete Jungle and Other Stories. It's a massive tome that belongs on every Predator fan's shelf, collecting every issue of the first three miniseries: Concrete Jungle, Cold War and Dark River, all written by Mark Verheiden with art by Chris Warner and Ron Randall.
This new updated edition will look perfect alongside last year's 30th-anniversary Alien hardcover, but instead of xenomorph zaniness, this publication is packed with pages and pages of pulse-pounding Predator periodicals, and we have an exclusive look at pages from the book.
Check out the gallery for a look at the pages, and be sure to let us know your favorite Predator memories in the comments! And pick up the hardcover in comic stores on June 14.
