In the wake of the first, goosebump-inducing season five trailer for the hit fantasy series based on author George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire book saga, eighteen new stills in glorious high resolution have also been released. Some of the character pics come straight from scenes seen in the trailer, but others show characters that were conspicuously absent, like Brienne and Podrick.
And boy, are those pics all over the place! Literally. They take us all over the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, from the Vale with Sansa and Petyr to King’s Landing with Cersei, Jaime, Tommen, a disheveled High Sparrow (played by Jonathan Pryce), and a still-happy-looking Margaery.
We also head south of the Capital to Dorne (which we'll get to see for the very first time on the series), with Prince Doran Martell (played by Star Trek: Deep Space Nine's Doctor Bashir, himself, Alexander Siddig), Areo Hotah, and Ellaria Sand. Then it's back up north to Winterfell with those bloody evil dastardly Boltons, before going up to the Wall with Jon and Stannis, Davos and Melisandre, and the Wildlings. And off we go, smooth-sailing it across the Narrow Sea to Essos and our Mother of Dragons (that'd be Sarah Connor from the upcoming Terminator Genisys flick Daenerys, of course), Tyrion and Lord Varys, and our girl Arya who's finally in Braavos, on the threshold of the House of Black and White.
Have a look at the gallery below (the stills are in no particular order), and let us know what you think. The fifth season of HBO’s Game of Thrones will premiere on April 12.
