In November of 2017, Star Wars Rebels fans watched Hera Syndulla get captured by the Empire and taken away before the credits rolled. Talk about a cliffhanger.
It's been two months since then. Two months of speculation. Two months of worry. Two months of trying to figure out what would happen next. We know Hera Syndulla survives the events of the series, thanks to her appearance on Endor in Star Wars: Forces of Destiny, but the fate of the rest of the Ghost crew is still very much up in the air.
Will Kanan and Ezra survive even when we know Darth Vader was responsible for wiping out the Jedi? Will Sabine return to her family? Will we lose Zeb? Now that Kallus has joined the Rebellion, will we see him again when this is over?
A new trailer has now whetted fans' appetites, as the countdown begins to the mid-season premiere.
If you're wondering whether that is Ian McDiarmid as Emperor Palpatine, it absolutely is. McDiarmid is making his Star Wars Rebels debut, which makes perfect sense since we'll likely be seeing the rise of the Emperor in these final episodes.
Speaking of which, we also have dates for the last episodes of Star Wars Rebels ever (Noooooooo!), which will start on Monday, Feb. 19, with "Jedi Night" and end on March 5 with an hourlong episode called "Family Reunion – and Farewell."
Feb. 19: Mid-season premiere "Jedi Night" (9 p.m. ET/PT) and "DUME" (9:30 p.m.)
Feb. 26: "Wolves and a Door" (9 p.m. ET/PT) and "A World Between Worlds" (9:30 p.m.)
March 5: "A Fool's Hope" (8:30 p.m. ET/PT) and "Family Reunion – and Farewell" (9 p.m.)
One programming note: The episodes will be on the DisneyNOW App an hour after the premiere on Disney XD and will be available on VOD and digital platforms the day after the premiere.
It's going to be an epic three weeks.
