It's still months to go before Arrow returns for its third season on Oct. 8. Thankfully, there's always an official synopsis to tide us over!
So you want to know what's next for Oliver, Felicity, Dig, Laurel, et al.? Well, you, sir or madam, are in luck. The CW has released an official synopsis that tells us where season three will begin and what shape it will take.
But beware, there are some spoilers afoot. Consider yourself warned. And on that note:
In the aftermath of this victory, Season Three opens with Arrow now a hero to the citizens of Starling. Crime is down, people feel safer, and Captain Lance even calls off the Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Basking in his success, Oliver believes he can finally have a private life and asks Felicity out on a date. But the second Oliver takes his eye off the ball, a deadly villain reappears in Starling, forcing Oliver to realize that he can never be Oliver Queen – not as long as the city needs The Arrow.
So Captain Lance won't die? Can't exactly call that a huge surprise, but it's technically a spoiler. And danger getting in the way of all that Olicity? Well, yeah. Par for the course.
But who is our deadly villain? Malcolm Merlyn seems the obvious choice, but you never know. The Arrow has been busy, and he's made a lot of enemies just while he's been back in Starling. We don't even know all the other enemies he made while he was both on and off the island.
So speculate away. And say a quiet prayer to the deity of your choosing that we get some forward momentum on the Oliver/Felicity front. Seriously, can we get something, please, CW?
