Marvel’s darkest series yet, Jessica Jones, will finally arrive on Netflix this upcoming Friday. Ahead of the series’ release, a new interview with genre favorite David Tennant has emerged.
In a great video interview with The Guardian, which is neatly interspersed with cool clips of the former Doctor Who star as the villainous Kilgrave, aka Purple Man, Tennant also explained what drew him to the project in the first place (hint: the Marvel Cinematic Universe).
The lifelong comic-book fan also talked about the complexity of his Marvel character, with clips underlining the terrifying mind-control powers the villain wields. Check it out:
Here is an official synopsis for the series:
After a tragic ending to her short-lived super hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York City.
Along with David Tennant as Kilgrave, the Marvel and Netflix series stars Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Rachel Taylor as Trish Walker, Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeryn Hogarth, Eka Darville as Malcolm and Wil Traval as Will Simpson. All 13 episodes of Marvel's Jessica Jones will begin streaming on Netflix on Nov. 20, 2015.
I'm really hoping for Kilgrave to be as compelling a villain as Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin was in Marvel and Netflix's Daredevil. Do you think David Tennant will be up to the challenge?
