First Doctor Strange filming pics reveal an epically bearded Sorcerer Supreme

With filming on Marvel's Doctor Strange currently in full swing in Kathmandu, Nepal, it was only a matter of time before filming pics from the set would make their merry way online. And we've got a few of those plucked straight from Twitter.

What's awesome about them is that we get a close look at an epically bearded Benedict Cumberbatch, in costume here as brilliant neurosurgeon Dr. Stephen Strange. Comic Book Movie surmise Strange will have an American accent -- which, you know, makes total sense, since the Sorcerer Supreme is an American, which we know because Cumberbatch’s dialect coach, Sarah Shepherd, has been posting photographs from the same filming locations on her Instagram account.

For those of you not familiar with the Marvel title, the gist of the story is this: When a car accident destroys the bones in his hands, the egotistical surgeon Strange embarks on a quest to repair the tools of his trade, which ultimately leads him to the Himalayas, where he meets with a mystical hermit called the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton) after traveling around the world to remote locales in order to find exotic cures. Which was an epic fail, by the way, until Stephen Strange finally met up with the Ancient One. Take a look at the pics below (notice the graying temples and beard, the subtle blue and red in his outfit, the cap that looks like the whole collar thing), and chime in with your comments.

There’s no news how long filming in Nepal will take, but the superhero movie is said to be expected to film in London the following month.

Doctor Strange is set to open in movie theaters on Nov. 4, 2016.
