Though it seems he’ll be a good guy at this point in the timeline, Gotham is set to bring in a young Harvey Dent in the prequel series. Young Dent will be played by Nicholas D’Agosto (Final Destination 5) on the series, and it seems he’ll be an up-and-coming assistant district attorney.
Dent, who eventually becomes the villain Two-Face, was famously Gotham’s district attorney before going bad in the comic canon. He was most recently played by Aaron Eckhart on the big screen in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight in 2008. D’Agosto’s version certainly seems to be charismatic, but we are intrigued about the inherent age gap between him and Bruce Wayne. Aren’t they typically a bit closer in age? We digress.
D’Agosto’s character is currently just a loose recurring role, but considering Gotham is likely to get a second season pick-up, we’d think he could definitely be worked into more storylines down the line. A do-gooder assistant district attorney could certainly be a good ally for Det. Jim Gordon. Plus, you know, he will eventually be the city’s district attorney.
This new episode of Gotham, dubbed “Harvey Dent,” airs Monday, November 17 on Fox.
