When it was announced that David Tennant had scored the role of Peter Vincent in the Fright Night remake, the collective sound of millions of squeeing fans from the Doctor Who/David Tennant community was probably heard all over. Today, we now have our very first look at what the actor looks like in the role, and it's really, REALLY interesting. And kind of shocking.
Shock Till You Drop has put up these very first pictures showing off David Tennant's look as Peter Vincent, a role that was originally played by the beloved Roddy McDowall in Tom Holland's 1985 movie.
We don't know about you, but we're rather stunned by it: Gone is the white hair and the whole Sherlock Holmes-type attire. Instead, Tennant rocks a full-on Criss Angel, look with flowing dark hair, and it's a bit hard to recognize the former 10th Doctor underneath the attire.
Rather than being the host of a late-night horror show, as he was in the original movie, this new version of Peter Vincent is a master of illusion who has an act in Las Vegas' Hard Rock Café, which will apparently be called "Fright Night." These would be the banners advertising the show. Do you like the way Tennant looks?
Directed by Craig Gillespie and starring Anton Yelchin, Colin Farrell, Imogen Poots, David Tennant, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Toni Collette, the new Fright Night movie is scheduled to open Oct. 7, 2011.
