Director Alex Zamm has made a career out of mostly direct-to-DVD family fare, and has most recently been working on live-action/CGI features based on classic characters Marvin the Martian and Hong Kong Phooey. Neither film has seen the light of day, but test footage from both recently leaked online—want to see?
Zamm's (Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2, Chairman of the Board) adaptation of Marvin the Martian has been in development hell for nearly four years, though the short bit of polished concept video does look sharp.
Hong Kong Phooey is technically still in the works, with Eddie Murphy reportedly attached to headline as Phooey's voice. The concept mixes a CGI Phooey with live action, and looks like it could be a fun little romp.
The footage popped up on Vimeo, seemingly posted by Zamm, so it's unknown if it was meant as a proof of concept for someone in particular—or if he's just trying to generate some buzz for the projects.
Both reels have been combined in the clip below:
What do you think of the clips? Would you watch either of these as a feature-length flick?
