But Deadline reports that the actress is now in early talks to join Bradley Cooper in his intriguing new supernatural drama Deeper, about a failed astronaut who comes face-to-face with “mysterious forces” that are found at the bottom of the sea.
The movie tells the story of the former space man delving into a newly-discovered oceanic trench, which is claimed to be the “lowest point on Earth,” and where it seems some phantom inhabitants are at play.
This is the first non-DCEU movie that Gadot's been attached to since her big solo debut as Diana Prince, and interestingly, it looks set to contain a sci-fi/fantasy element to it. The premise of the film already sounds like a distant cousin of James Cameron's 1989 sci-fi drama, The Abyss. David S. Goyer, no stranger to sci-fi or DC, is set to produce, with Hungarian filmmaker Kornél Mundruczó on directing duties.
It's no surprise to see that Gadot is now an in-demand name in Hollywood. Wonder Woman has smashed multiple box office records since it was released earlier this year, grossing more than $411 million in the U.S. and almost $819 million worldwide. Prior to her smash breakout role, Gadot joined the Fast & Furious franchise in 2015’s Furious 7 playing Gisele, and in 2016 starred opposite Jon Hamm in the action comedy Keeping Up with the Joneses.
