Another day, another Game of Thrones leak.
In the wake of the show’s fourth episode (titled “The Spoils of War”) being leaked two weeks ago via an Indian distributor called Star (which led to the arrest of four people), now it is Episode 6’s turn to have made its merry way online.
The currently-still-untitled episode due to air this coming Sunday has popped up on the Internet this morning, where it first appeared on several sharing sites and a Reddit post. Apparently, the sixth episode was accidentally aired by HBO Nordic in Spain for about an hour before it was pulled. This being the Interweb, said episode is currently making the rounds and you can find it if you know where to look.
This follows the news of a massive HBO hack where said hackers obtained 1.5 terabytes of stolen data — which included script outlines for the fantasy series — from the cable network’s US servers. Episode 4 leaked via a foreign distributor and was not a result of those HBO hacks, with the hackers having only released those script outlines, at least so far.
The hackers had demanded $6 million to keep from leaking whatever episodes they got their hands on, with a senior VP offering them $250,000 and asking for a week’s lenience in what was apparently a ploy from the HBO brass who never intended to pay a single golden dragon.
What do you think of this new Game of Thrones episode leak?
