Here’s a Game of Thrones cameo in Solo: A Star Wars Story that you probably missed

We bet you all the gold in Westeros that you didn't spot this Game of Thrones star in Solo: A Star Wars Story. No, we're not talking about Emilia Clarke, but — wait for it — Saxon the dog.

OK, we'll admit we didn't know who Saxon was either until a few minutes ago, but according to his trainers, this K-9 dude is a very big deal in showbiz.

On a recent episode of the The Star Wars Show (skip to around the 3:14 mark in the video below) Lucasfilm Story Group member Pablo Hidalgo revealed that Saxon — who was seen taking an on-set break from filming Solo — is also a cast member of GoT, playing Arya Stark's (Maisie Williams) direwolf Nymeria.

Hidalgo tweeted: "This is me meeting a real honest-to-gosh star. Saxon plays Nymeria in Game of Thrones. Also: a good dog."

GoT fans may recall that Arya sadly had to let go of Nymeria in order to stay alive, and the poor guy was given the death penalty by order of Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey).

But in real life, it seems that not only is Saxon alive and well, he's also in great demand, with animal trainer Jo Vaughan commenting in the video that he's done numerous filming jobs in the biz.

Meanwhile in Solo, Saxon is slightly less recognizable as one of the Corellian hound dogs that chases Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich), and the role required wearing a fitted Lycra costume that we're hoping wasn’t too uncomfortable for the professional canine.

"For this particular film, we've trained him to wear a suit so he doesn’t look like a dog at all, he looks like another creature entirely," Vaughan explains.

Like a true thespian, Saxon is already proving to be quite the chameleon with his roles.
