George Lucas shills for clunky camcorder in '80s Japanese ad

Now that George Lucas is one of the richest men on the planet, it's unlikely we'll see him pitching us a product (a non-Star Wars-themed one, anyway), but back in the '80s, things were a little bit different.

Much like Bill Murray in Lost in Translation, Lucas appeared in foreign commercials he probably hoped the rest of us would never see. Thanks to YouTube, though, nothing can remain hidden forever.

We have no idea exactly when in the '80s this vintage video first appeared, so if you have any idea, please let us know, OK?
