If you’re a Twin Peaks devotee, then there’s a chance you’ve made the pilgrimage to North Bend, Washington, to visit the little town that David Lynch cast as Twin Peaks in all of its iterations. But if you haven’t, and happen to live in the SoCal area, this week you’re as lucky as Dougie Jones at the Silver Mustang Casino, because Showtime has constructed a Double R Diner Pop-Up on Melrose in West Hollywood, California.
On the site of a former Johnny Rockets, the Double R Diner will exist for one week only, Oct. 16-22, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Inside, fans can sidle up to the counter and get served cherry pie, doughnuts, a cup of David Lynch’s signature java, or (if over 21) a glass of wine or a Mikkeller’s Twin Peaks-inspired beer: Log Lady Lager, Red Room Ale, or Damn Good Coffee Stout.
There’s also a rack of screen-worn costumes, from Dougie’s lime green jacket to the pink outfits worn by the Silver Mustang Casino hostesses. And if you need to take some of that Lynchian goodness home, there’s a whole line of merchandise previously featured on Showtime's Twin Peaks website available to buy on the spot.
We took a tour of the shop so you can live vicariously through our picture gallery and video walk-through below. Check it out, then let us know what you'd order.
