We don't have much longer to wait for our first live-action Daredevil story in more than a decade, and anticipation just keeps building. There's a lot riding on Daredevil, not just because it's a series that hopes to redeem a character that wasn't very well served by the 2003 film version, but because it's the first in an ambitious five-series, 60-episode deal between Marvel Studios and Netflix that will see the Marvel Cinematic Universe expanding in ways it never has before. If this effort works, who knows what other Marvel characters might head to a venue like Netflix in the future, and it all begins with Daredevil's 13-episode debut on April 10.
With little more than a month to go until the premiere, we still don't know all that much about Daredevil, really. We know most of the main characters, we know to expect "street-level" crime-fighting, and we know that it will be the story of how Matt Murdock becomes the Man Without Fear. All of that was emphasized by the tantalizingly brief (and very plot-light) trailer that hit earlier this month, and while we still don't have anything else to go on in terms of story, we do now have a new set of photos courtesy of Empire.
Sadly, these photos don't tell us anything we didn't already know, but they do give us a chance to linger a bit on the show's supporting cast, including Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson and Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, treating Murdock's (Charlie Cox) wounds. We also get a glimpse of the Kingpin, Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio), though as in the trailer, he's merely standing with his back to us, staring at a white canvas. We'd love to see more of him, but that foreboding image is adding to his mystique, so he'll be even more intimidating when we finally get something new. Sadly, there's no new look at Scott Glenn as Stick, who was glimpsed very briefly in the trailer, but we'll get to know him soon enough.
