Get to see 11 Marvel films with Cinemark’s superpowered movie marathon

Marvel XD Week is blasting into select Cinemark theaters nationwide this weekend, and it’s going to be a superpowered event.

If you’re paranormally lucky enough to live near one (please tell me how there can be exactly zero in NYC) or have just found the best excuse for a road trip, you’ll get in on a screening of the 11 most powerful Marvel Cinematic Universe movies ever, and each one is — get this — five bucks.

No, you haven’t just teleported back in time. It really is five bucks.

For those who really want to marathon it, there are programs that will take you through the leaps, kicks, and laser blasts of a different Marvel theme every day. "Origins" takes off from Stark Tower on Aug. 25 with Iron Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, Ant-Man and Doctor Strange; "Cosmic" shoots into space on Aug. 26 with Thor, Guardians Vol. 2, Avengers, and Doctor Strange; and "Team Ups" joins forces among Guardians, Captain America: Civil War, and both Avengers on Aug. 30. Choose a different adventure with Fan Favorites, Cap’s Best Of, First Avengers or Guardians Day.

Did I mention that almost everything at the concession stand is also between $2 and $3 in case you work up a Hulk-ish appetite saving the world?

Get the full list here, but the MCU movies that are part of this epic event are Ant-Man, Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Iron Man, and Thor. That means Spidey is nowhere in sight, and neither is The Incredible Hulk or any of the Iron Man and Thor sequels.

If you just can’t sit in a dark movie theater for hours on end, or if there’s one you’ve seen on Netflix so many times you can play a mental cinematic reel of it in your sleep, you can pick whichever movies you want to see on that particular day. Which is what makes this even more awesome.

Get your cape on and swoop in from Aug. 25 – 31.
