Now here's something to decorate a geek coffee table with. A massive, 370-page sci-fi saga is about to be published, and it's inspired by the fantasy worlds of George Lucas and Tolkien. Swirling black holes and horned sorcerers? Yes, please.
This hefty hardcover epic, Anomaly, is due in stores and online this October, and that seems decades to wait. It's an original painted/CGI'd graphic novel written by Hollywood lawyer Skip Brittenham and Witchblade co-creator Brian Haberlin, with stunning images drawn by Haberlin and Geirrod Van Dyke. Anomaly will also be released with an app narrated by the vocal talents of Vincent Corazza, Nana Visitor, Olivia D'Abo, Dave Fennoy and Keith Szarabajka.
With a Hollywood movie deal with producer Joe Roth already inked, the "longest full-color, original graphic novel ever published" will be making some monstrous waves in the comic world come fall. Anomaly is the Avatar-like tale of a planet being conquered by humans hoping to mine its resources, but facing another hostile planet at war with them.
