Will an Academy Award-nominated director be the one to bring us Twilight: Breaking Dawn? Could be, according to EW.
Apparently, Summit is trying to up the pedigree for its big-screen adaptation of the final installment of Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series. EW has learned that the studio has reached out to Sofia Coppola (Lost in Translation), Gus Van Sant (Good Will Hunting), Bill Condon (Dreamgirls) and other critically acclaimed directors to feel them out about what will probably end up being a two-movie finale to the franchise.
While Van Sant's representatives confirmed that he'd been approached, Coppola and Condon's people didn't return phone calls by press time.
Who do you think should take the reins of Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series?
