The beloved Goosebumps book series is finally coming to comics — but author R.L. Stine won’t actually be putting pen to paper this time around.

Entertainment Weekly reports IDW Publishing is prepping a Goosebumps comic series, which will be written by Jeremy Lambert (Attack on Titan Anthology), with art by Chris Fenoglio (X-Files: Origins). The first story arc will be titled “Monsters at Midnight” and be set in Stine’s HorrorLand. Per the report, the story will follow two sisters, Mia and Ginny, as they stumble upon the terrifying theme park after stepping through a mysterious door in an old bookshop when they’re spending a boring summer at their grandmother’s house.

“My first reading thrill when I was a kid was the EC horror comics, Tales from the Crypt and The Vault of Horror,” R.L. Stine said in a statement. “They introduced me to the excitement of reading. Now all these years later, I have another thrill — seeing my stories and characters come to life in a comic book series of their own.”

It’s great to see this franchise finally get a shot at the comic medium, but it’s a shame Stine isn’t actually writing it. He recently wrapped a limited Man-Thing run for Marvel Comics, so he obviously has some interest in it — but regardless — we’ll take what we can get when it comes to Stine’s kid-friendly, freaky universe.

The first issue of Goosebumps hits shelves in October.
