Tim Robbins—who has been carving out a career as the dad in such films as City of Ember—will play another one in the upcoming Green Lantern movie.
According to The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision blog:
Robbins will play Senator Hammond, the disapproving father of the movie's villain, Dr. Hector Hammond (Peter Sarsgaard), who becomes infused with psychic powers.
Robbins joins a cast led by Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern and Blake Lively as Carol Ferris. The movie is slated to begin shooting in New Orleans in March. Martin Campbell directs.
