Spoilers ahead for Season 8 of The Walking Dead!
It’s almost hard to believe that AMC’s The Walking Dead has been airing for eight seasons already. Over the years, we’ve pretty much seen every kind of zombie under the sun (but never in winter), from a RoboCop tribute zombie to a Hellraiser-inspired walker. However the one constant for every walker has been that they’ve always been fully or partially clothed (or missing their lower parts so that doesn’t count). Well, all that's about to change.
Walking Dead executive producer Greg Nicotero has revealed that following the emotional roller-coaster that will be Episode 9, the show will introduce its first fully naked walker in the history of the series during the second half of Season 8. “There’s an episode where we did our first fully nude walker. We’ve never done that before,” Nicotero told Entertainment Weekly in a recent interview. Nothing really says Valentine’s Day like getting some news that we're about to get a fully naked zombie on the show.
According to the article, there’s no intel about the gender of the naked member of the undead, or whether or not that zombie will go full-frontal or if we’ll only get to see its backside. One thing for sure is that it’s going to be a gruesome sight that keep pushing the zombie world further...just maybe not where we expected.
The Walking Dead is set to return to AMC on Feb. 25 with a whopping 82-minute midseason premiere that’s bound to make fans bawl their eyes out. The episode titled “Honor” will pick up where we left off weeks ago when the zombie series began its winter hiatus on the revelation that Carl (Chandler Riggs) had been bitten by a walker, and that the younger Grimes is expected to soon draw his last breath.
