Holy smokes! Starz has just revealed that it will be adding the six-million-dollar man himself, actor Lee Majors, and Xena alum Ted Raimi to the Season 2 cast of its hit horror series Ash vs Evil Dead. Hail to the King, baby!
In an official press release, Starz announced that Majors will play our favorite chainsaw-wielding aging lothario Ash Williams' (Bruce Campbell) dad, Brock Williams, while Raimi will play Chet Kaminski, Ash’s childhood BFF, when the show returns for a highly anticipated second season in 2016. The actors will appear alongside returning stars Bruce Campbell, Lucy Lawless, Ray Santiago and Dana DeLorenzo.
Majors, who has more than 120 acting credits to his name and is far from being retired, is mostly known for his role of Col. Steve Austin in The Six Million Dollar Man (1974-1978) and Bionic Woman (1976) and stuntman Colt Seavers on four seasons of The Fall Guy. As for fan favorite Ted Raimi, the actor (who is also Sam Raimi’s brother) has appeared in all three original Evil Dead films and Raimi's Spider-Man movies but is mostly known for his stint as that lovable goof Joxer on Xena: Warrior Princess.
The second season of the STARZ Original series “Ash vs Evil Dead” will be 10 half-hour episodes. The cast is led by Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead, “Burn Notice”) in the role of Ash Williams; Lucy Lawless (“Salem,” “Spartacus”) as Ruby, who now possesses the powerful Necronomicon; Ray Santiago (“Touch,” Meet the Fockers) as Pablo Simon Bolivar, Ash’s loyal sidekick dealing with the trauma he suffered in the cabin; and Dana DeLorenzo (A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas) as Kelly Maxwell, who, grief-stricken after the death of her parents, plots revenge against The Evil Dead.
Serving as executive producers on Ash vs Evil Dead are Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, Bruce Campbell and Ivan Raimi. Season 1 showrunner Craig DiGregorio returns as showrunner and executive producer.
Are you excited to see Lee Majors and Ted Raimi being added to the cast of Ash vs Evil Dead for Season 2?
