Hasbro releases three Stranger Things board games just in time for Halloween

If you ever wondered what some classic board games looked like over in the Upside Down world then look no further – because Hasbro has the answer.

Just in time for Halloween – and hot on the heels of Stranger Things 2, arriving Oct. 27 on Netflix – the board game company has released no fewer than three themed games for fans to enjoy.

The first two are spooky spins on the very well-known classics Monopoly and the Ouija board.

In the Monopoly “Stranger Things Edition,” players choose an '80s-inspired token or one "ripped from the Upside Down" to move around the board trying to find Will Byers. You can also pretend to buy, sell, and trade locations and vehicles from the show.

Meanwhile, the Ouija board is a stroke of genius, using Joyce Byers’ method of contacting the other side with her fairy lights sprawled across her hand-painted alphabet for the design.

Last but by no means least, there’s Eleven’s Eggo card game (seen in the header photo) – which includes, of course, egg-shaped cards that have the power to send your opponent to the Upside Down world if they’re not careful. The closest thing you could compare this to is perhaps a good old game of Uno, in that you need to get rid of your cards as quickly as possible. Frankly, we’d be up for this as a Halloween gift just for the box alone.

Season 2 of Stranger Things will be available for streaming on Netflix on Oct. 27, and these games are available to buy now from Target
