“Spider-Man, Spider-Man, does whatever a spider can. Spins a web any size, catches thieves just like flies. Look out, here comes the Spider-Man.”
We knew that Peter Parker (Tom Holland) was going to get a few costume upgrades via Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) in Spider-Man: Homecoming, and thanks to an amazing high-definition picture taken on the Atlanta set of the superhero movie, we have a close look at the wall-crawler’s new web-shooters. And they look pretty slick.
We also knew that Spidey’s shooters are mechanical (which they are in the comics as well) rather than the organic webbing (eww) featured in Sam Raimi’s original movie trilogy, and we learned in Captain America: Civil War that Peter made them himself. Exclusive footage from Homecoming shown during Marvel’s Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con showed Peter making web fluid while in class.
Oh, the pic also offers us an up-close-and-personal look at the Spidey suit. Now, whether that’s Holland in that costume or his stunt double … well, that’s unclear. But the details on the costume are amazing. I mean, that is one clear image.
Marvel and Sony’s Spider-Man: Homecoming stars Tom Holland, Robert Downey Jr., Zendaya, Michael Barbieri, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Kenneth Choi, Martin Starr, Donald Glover, Logan Marshall-Green, Marisa Tomei and Michael Keaton as The Vulture.
Directed by Jon Watts, the movie will be released on July 7, 2017.
