What's better than a free first slice of HBO's rootin'-tootin' robo-resort series, Westworld? How about a second helping served up early on HBO GO and HBO NOW to alleviate the anxiety associated with waiting until Sunday night for the official broadcast of the sophomore chapter, titled "Chestnut."
Earlier this week, HBO announced that those poor souls without the benefit of the premium pay cable network in the comforts of their homes could stream the pilot episode, The Original, for free via their online services here. With all the malevolent mechanisms at play in this provocative series, loosely based on Michael Crichton's classic sci-fi western from 1973, rest assured that the frontier trail ahead looks mighty promising.
The debut last Sunday scored the best viewership for the cable king since the unveiling of True Detective in January of 2014 and the hype is deserved and highly palpable. Check out both episodes without paying a single dime at HBO NOW and thank those benevolent marketing executives who have also blessed us with an early release of Episode 2 starting right now. Saddle up and ride like the wind to watch!
Executive-produced by Jonathan Nolan (The Dark Knight, Interstellar), Lisa Joy Nolan (Burn Notice, Pushing Daisies) and J.J. Abrams (Lost, Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Westworld stars Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harrris, James Marsden, Jeffrey Wright, Thandie Newton and Evan Rachel Wood.
